International Minifiddlers is a distance education solution in violin studies developed in Finland by Caprice Oy. Violin professor Géza Szilvay & other Colourstrings specialists teach groups in Finland and around the world from initial stages with the Colourstrings method. The Finnish students of Géza Szilvay are from the East Helsinki Music Institute.
We use some of the latest teleconferencing technology for online and real-time instruction. Sessions with the Finnish students are documented for online broadcasting. These edited online lessons form a comprehensive teaching material for 4 years, in total over 120 video lessons.
Conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen has addressed his support for International Minifiddlers in a public reference. The project is in cooperation with the University of Helsinki Music and Brain Research Group.
