International Minifiddlers

Grant to International Minifiddlers from the Finnish Cultural Foundation

The Finnish Cultural Foundation awarded a grant for Caprice and the International Minifiddlers project in February 2016. The grantees were announced at the annual gala of the Central Fund on 27th of February in Finlandia Hall, Helsinki. This year grants were awarded to a total of 1,064 individuals, working groups and organisations.

The grant to International Minifiddlers was awarded from the donor fund of Leena Siukonen and Eino Penttilä. Leena Siukonen (1924–1994 ) was a violinist who worked as a lecturer at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki until the year 1992. The purpose of her and her husband’s, writer Eino Penttilä (1907–1997), donor fund is to support Finnish expertise in violin playing.

The Finnish Cultural Foundation is a private foundation trust. It promotes art, science, and other fields of intellectual and cultural endeavour in Finland. The Foundation provides grants to individuals, working groups and organisations through its Central Fund and 17 regional funds.
